Add Custom Log Report - Advanced Topic - Report Design - Copy Single Project Log Report and Convert It To Multi Project


Features With Multi Project Log Report Option:

Contract Admin Module:

*Note: Single Project Log Reports are accessible in Current or Selected Project | Time and Expenses Module.


Copy and Convert To Multi Project Steps:

  1. View the Standard or Custom Single Project Log Report Listing for any of the features listed in the section above.



  2. Click the 'Copy Report' link to the right of the Standard or Custom Log Report that will be converted to Multi Project. This will create a copy under the Custom category.
  3. Click the 'Save Report As' link at the top to now create another copy but for Cross or Multi Project since the previous step did not provide this option. At the end of this process, the Log Report from step 2 will be deleted.



  4. In the popup form, check 'Multi Project?' and rename the log report as needed.



  5. In the report designer, change the Title at top right as needed. In this example, Project was added to the title.



  6. Click the 'Save Report' link at the top to save these changes.

Modify the main dataset that is used by the tablix control:

  1. Click the 'Data' icon on the right to view the existing datasets used in the report.



  2. Navigate to the dataset that is used by the tablix control (ex. ds) and click the Edit option. See image above.
  3. Change the Single Project Report Parameter to Multi Project.





  4. Remove other filter criteria and report parameters as needed.





  5. Click the 'Finish' button at the top. See image above.
  6. Click the 'Save Report' link at the top to save these changes.

Delete Datasets No Longer Needed:

  1. Navigate to the dataset and click the Delete option in the menu.



  2. Click 'Yes' in the popup form to confirm the deletion. (image not shown)
  3. Repeat the steps above to delete other datasets that will not be needed for the report.



  4. Click the 'Save Report' link at the top to save these changes.

Edit Remaining Datasets' Where Clause As Needed:

  1. Navigate to the remaining dataset and click the Edit option in the menu.



  2. Change the Single Project Report Parameter to Multi Project and remove other filter criteria that is no longer applicable.





  3. Click the 'Finish' button at the top. See image above.
  4. Click the 'Save Report' link at the top to save these changes.

Remove Report Parameters That Are No Longer Needed:

  1. Click the Report Parameter icon on the right.



  2. Delete the Report Parameters that are not referenced in any Datasets and are thus no longer needed.



  3. Click the 'Save Report' link at the top to save these changes.

Edit Report Parameter Layout:

  1. With the Report Paramters still in focus, click the Edit Layout link at the bottom.



  2. Move the Report Parameters as needed. Hidden parameters should be at top with shown options below.





  3. Click the 'Ok' button in the popup form.
  4. Click the 'Save Report' link at the top to save these changes.

Edit Multi Project Paramater (@ProjectIds) to Hidden:

  1. Click the Edit option for the Multi Project Report Parameter



  2. Check the 'Allow multiple values' option and change 'Visibility' to Hidden.



  3. Click the 'Save' button.
  4. Click the 'Save Report' link at the top to save these changes.

Optional: Add From and To Date Report Filter:

Most standard multi project log reports include a date range filter. For more information on how to add these specific report parameters, please see information below.

Date Report Parameter Names:

  • From Date Parameter: FromDate
  • To Date Parameter: ToDate

Delete the Custom Log Report That Was Created Upon Copy (See First Section Above | Step 2):

  1. Return to the Custom Log Report listing for Single Project.



  2. Delete the Custom Log Report that was created when it was originally copied. See First Section Above | Step 2.
  3. Click the 'Delete Report' link at the right.
  4. Click the 'Save Report' link at the top to save these changes.
