Installing CoreconLink Utility on Remote Desktop

Below are special instructions to install a CoreconLink utility on a virtual machine/desktop.

System Requirements

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012 R2 or later
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or higher
  • Screen Resolution:
    • 1024 x 768
    • Font Size: 100%
  • Internet Ports Open: 80 (http://) and 443 (https://)

Installing the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8

The steps listed below are not needed if a higher version (i.e. 4.8) of the Microsoft .NET Framework is already installed.

  1. Click Start | Windows Update or Open Internet Explorer and click Tools | Window Update
  2. Click Custom Install: High Priority and Optional Updates for Your Computer
  3. If Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or Service Packs are listed then download/install them.

Step 1: Instructions for Hosting Provider's IT Manager:

  1. Login to contractor's virtual machine/desktop using Citrix or Windows Terminal Services
  2. Open Internet Explorer or Firefox
  3. Download/Install CoreconLink Utility:
  4. Follow installation instructions.
  5. Paste CoreconLink icon on desktop for contractor's accounting staff. See Start | Programs | Corecon Technologies, Inc. | CoreconLink for QuickBooks/Sage 50 Canada.

Note: CoreconLink utilities uses port 80 and 443 when connecting to Corecon's database.

Step 2: Instructions for Contractor

  1. Login to contractor's virtual machine/desktop using Citrix or Windows Terminal Services
  2. Open Accounting Application and Company Database
  3. Open CoreconLink utility (see step 5 above - desktop icon)
  4. Enter Corecon Login information
  5. Click Help | View Help within the CoreconLink application
  6. Review Help Topics on CoreconLink Setup
  7. Establish connection between Corecon and Accounting database
